Tiles Privacy Policy
This covers the Tiles game, both the web version at tiles.wollivan.dev and the Tiles app on iOS and Android. Short version: I'm not collecting anything about you.
What the app stores
- A random ID generated on your device and stored locally (localStorage in a browser, AsyncStorage in the app). It's not linked to your name, email, or anything else, and it only exists so that if you reload the page or reopen the app mid-game, you get your same seat back instead of losing your spot (phew).
- Your local game settings, like player count and board size, so they're remembered between games (double phew).
What the app sends
When you play online, your moves (which tile you clicked) are sent over a WebSocket connection to the game server so the other player's screen can update. That's the entire payload! A room code, your random device ID, and a tile number. Nothing else about you or your device is sent anywhere.
What the app doesn't do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email or phone number required
- No analytics, trackers, or crash-reporting services
- No ads, and nothing is sold or shared with third parties
- No access requested to your contacts, camera, location, etc.
Children
Tiles is fine for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, kids included, there's simply nothing being collected in the first place.
Changes
If this ever changes, I'll update this page. Last updated 16 September 2026.
